No place for hate

To the men standing on the overpass at Mason and 64/40 today:

We've seen you before.  Not you exactly but people just like you. People who spread hate in the name of love for their country.   People who don't know history and spread false narratives or hang on to the ideas of a maniacal leader who himself was a coward and unwilling to answer for his crimes against humanity, including white men who you were "speaking" on behalf of today.

If your goal was to scare and upset people with your hate, congrats, you did it.  And for what purpose? To show that you are strong and passionate about your cause other people be damned?!

If your goal was to show strength for your cause, that of white men in America, you failed big time.   You didn't promote anything but cowardice and hate.  Hiding your face behind a mask doesn't show strength, it shows that you are only willing to stand up for what you believe as long as no one knows who you are.  Why?  What are you afraid of?

My hope is that the majority of motorists who passed you today had their eyes opened to the fact that hate in our country is very real.  I hope that wherever they went they spoke about the hate they saw and called it out because your hate isn't limited or focused on one single group of people.  You may have called out Jews when you yelled or spoke with those who approached you, but we know that it rarely if ever ends with the Jews.

There is no place for hate like yours in our country.   I hope that others will join me in declaring that, too.   It's going to take all of us to stand up to cowardly bullies like you.

Signed,

A concerned and proud Jewish American
